With Jax, use your E proactively to block enemy attacks rather than reactively. Wait for your power spike post-first item before initiating duels. In teamfights, target carries after being peeled through by your frontline.

Jax is generally played as Top. The first objective is to stack the passive on minions, play safe, poke then trade when e is up. ask for ganks if the enemy pushes. Its biggest edge comes from scaling exceptionnel late game.
Jax takes over in mid game: split push hard when ahead, rotate back to teamfights when needed.
Jax is usually punished by forcing its first defensive or spacing tool too early.
