Xayah Wild Rift Expert Guide

With Xayah, build up feathers before teamfighting to maximize the return. Use your ultimate to avoid CC rather than deal damage — your invulnerability can save a fight. Position so feathers pass through the maximum targets on return.

3 E E
4 W W

6 Q Q

Cast the ult backwards for invincibility + feathers in front, Flash towards enemies so the feathers surround them, 3 for the AoE root

Mechanical Tips

  • Feathers stacking: feathers are generated by AAs and Ability 1 (2 feathers) — the more feathers on the target when Bladecaller (3) is cast, the longer the root lasts and the more damage it deals
  • Clean Cuts (passive): after using an ability, the next auto-attacks travel in a straight line and leave additional feathers — use ability 1 or 2, then chain auto-attacks to maximise the number of feathers placed
  • Featherstorm invincibility: during her ultimate, Xayah is completely untargetable — use this to dodge ultimates (Zed’s ultimate, Caitlyn’s ultimate, Jhin’s ultimate) even outside a standard combo
  • Rakan synergy: with Rakan, Battle Dance (3 Rakan) has a reduced cooldown on Xayah — use Rakan’s jumps towards Xayah for extra mobility in teamfights

Common Mistakes

  • Bladecaller (3) with few feathers: the 3rd cast with only 1–2 feathers does not root — always accumulate 3+ feathers before casting to guarantee a root
  • Using the ultimate too defensively: Featherstorm is also an excellent offensive tool for AoE rooting — don’t keep it solely as an escape; look for situations where 3+ feathers can root multiple enemies
  • Deadly Plumage (2) wasted: Level 2 boosts attack speed and movement speed — activate it BEFORE the fight, not during, to make the most of its full duration

Notable Interactions

  • Featherstorm causes feathers to rain down, which remain in the area — after using her ultimate, Bladecaller (3) can root an entire team if they are grouped together beneath the feathers
  • Xayah with Rakan: the Battle Dance shield is specifically strengthened for Xayah — the bot lane duo composition is one of the most synergistic in the game
  • With Navori Quickblades, the cooldown on her third ability drops very quickly — resulting in a more frequent root cycle

FAQ

How should I play Xayah in Wild Rift?

Xayah is generally played as ADC. The first objective is to farm priority, denies losing trades vs lanes poke; back tempo for spike 1st item. Its biggest edge comes from exceptional self-peel (r + e) against dives.

When is Xayah strongest?

Xayah takes over in mid game: prioritize dragon/herald: set-up feathers, capitalize on roots.

How do I punish Xayah?

Xayah can be punished when medium range and dependence on w for dps. A practical answer listed here is: Punish her when W is down: the DPS drops sharply without that buff.
