Micro decisions

• Do not use Heroic Swing just to win a short trade if you do not have jungle vision and a pre-identified wall exit.
• When an enemy falls into ultimate range, first evaluate likely body blocks and the cost of a failed channel before firing.
• With Going Rogue available, disappearing for three seconds can be worth more than one extra visible poke trade in mid.
• If a skirmish starts badly, sometimes keep your swing for the defensive reset or exit instead of first contact.

Common mistakes

• Using Heroic Swing as an automatic trade tool instead of treating it first as an angle and conversion tool.
• Channeling the ultimate too early on a target that can still hide behind a frontline or a minion.
• Roaming without properly fixing the wave, turning the move into a raw mid-lane loss.
• Taking prolonged frontal duels into profiles that specifically want readable, static fights.
• Revealing position too early when the threat of Going Rogue alone is already enough to distort the map.

Level 5

Level 5 changes his lane pressure: a trade that is already winning can immediately become a ranged execution. That forces the opponent to respect low HP states, recall earlier, and play waves more cautiously, which in turn opens more roam space for Akshan.

Phantom Dancer timing

The Phantom Dancer timing improves both his burst tolerance and repositioning fluidity. It is not only a DPS gain: it lets him take more ambitious angles, survive the first contact more often, and convert more resets.
