Cho'Gath Wild Rift Expert Guide

With Cho'Gath, stack Feast on minions whenever it is off cooldown: it is a scaling resource, not just an execute. Chain the knock-up into the silence to guarantee the cone connects. In teamfights, look for corridors and save the ultimate for the first enemy carry dropping below the true damage threshold.

Cho'Gath Wild Rift Expert Guide

§ 07b — Advanced MechanicsCho'Gath: combos & tips Wild Rift

Standard control combo
1 Q Q
2 W W
3 E E
4 AA

The first ability knocks up for 1s, which guarantees the cone from the second connects; the third chains all three spikes during the 60% slow left behind by the first

Execute combo
1 Q Q
2 E E
3 AA
4 R R

Land the crowd control first, check the remaining health, then release the ult: 300/450/600 TRUE damage is reduced by no resistance whatsoever

Anti-assassin combo
1 W W
2 Q Q
3 E E

Here the silence goes first, not second: it cuts the assassin's spell chain before it even begins

Corridor zoning combo
1 Q Q
2 W W
3 E E

In the river or at a pit entrance, both zones overlap and hit the entire team

Mechanical Tips

  • Feast is a resource, not a finisher: every kill with the ult grants a permanent stack (+80/120/160 health, +6/8/10% size, +4.7/6.2/7.7 attack range). Stack on minions and neutral monsters whenever it is off cooldown — 6 stacks maximum through that route
  • Impact delay on Rupture: the first ability is not instant. Aim where they are going, not where they are. Against a champion with a dash, wait until it has been spent
  • The silence does not block basic attacks: the second ability stops spells, not autos or Flash. Against an ADC it is there to cut a disengage tool, not to negate their damage
  • Spikes scale with stacks: the third ability deals 2.15% to 3.2% of the target's max health, +0.5% per Feast stack. At 6 stacks and rank 4, every spike hits for 6.2% max health — that is what keeps him relevant into tanks
  • Minion cap: base damage on the third ability is capped at 100/150/200/250 against minions and monsters. It is a farming tool, not a fast clear tool

Common Mistakes

  • Saving the ult "just in case": 80 seconds of cooldown spent without a stack is scaling lost for good. If no kill is on the table, the ult goes on a melee minion
  • Casting Feral Scream before Rupture in a trade: outside of anti-assassin situations the order is 1 then 2. The cone only reliably connects on an already immobilised target
  • Trading into true damage: against Fiora, Vayne or Gwen the health pool becomes a liability. Play under tower and wait for grouped fights
  • Split-pushing late: with no mobility, Cho'Gath loses every map trade. His value is in grouped teamfights, in corridors
  • Forgetting the hitbox: at 6 stacks his size grows by up to 100%. Enemy area abilities become significantly easier to land

Notable Interactions

  • Feast damage is true: it goes through armour, magic resist and damage reduction. Only a shield or invulnerability (Stasis, Zhonya, Kayle R) stops it
  • The Carnivore passive is doubled on champions, turrets and epic monsters — this lets him contest Dragon and Baron on far less health than normal
  • The 1-second knock-up from the first ability triggers Yasuo's Last Breath: one of the most reliable set-ups in the game, and it does not depend on his ultimate
  • The attack range gained through stacks (up to +75) changes his laning profile: from 4-5 stacks onwards he trades at a distance no standard melee can match
  • Feast cast range also grows (+2.5 per stack, max +25) — the execute becomes available from an increasingly safe distance

FAQ

How should I play Cho'Gath in Wild Rift?

Cho'Gath is generally played as Top. The early goal is to protect lane tempo and reach the first strong setup. Its biggest edge comes from permanent scaling: every successful feast adds health, size and attack range kept for the whole game.

How do I punish Cho'Gath?

Cho'Gath can be punished when zero mobility: no dash, no leap, nothing but base movement speed. A practical answer listed here is: Punish every missed Rupture: a 6-second cooldown is a completely free trade window.
