Kog'Maw Wild Rift Expert Guide

On-hit DPS combo

Activate W for range and on-hit damage, Q for armour/MR shred, spam auto-attacks.

Poke combo

3 AA

E slow trail, Q for damage + shred, auto-attacks whilst the enemy is slowed.

Snipe combo

Use R repeatedly on low-HP targets from long range. Increasing mana cost.

Engage combo

3 AA

Q to reduce resistances, W for maximum DPS, auto-attacks, E for slow or retreat.

Bio-Arcane Barrage (W): increases auto-attack range and deals % of maximum HP damage per hit. Activate in combat, not just for poking. Lasts 8s — don’t waste it when not in combat.
Caustic Spittle (Q): reduces the target’s armour and magic resistance. Cast Q before using W auto-attacks to maximise on-hit damage.
Living Artillery (R): long range, damage increases if the target is low on HP. Can be spammed, but the mana cost doubles with each rapid cast. Use with caution on targets with normal HP.
Void Ooze (E): a trail of ooze that slows. Use it in the direction the enemy is fleeing to kite them.
Passive: Icathian Surprise: Upon death, Kog’Maw continues to move and explodes after a few seconds — useful for positioning yourself towards enemies just before dying.

Casting W without an imminent fight — wasting the 8-second duration on unproductive kiting.
Spamming R whilst low on mana — the cost doubles with each rapid cast, so mana management is critical.
Not applying Q before W — losing a significant portion of the on-hit damage.

W + Guinsoo’s Rageblade = synergistically boosted attack speed and on-hit damage.
Kog’Maw requires a peel support (Lulu, Karma) — he’s very immobile.
R can be used for vision and to poke from base if the targets are in the right position.

Kog'Maw is generally played as ADC. The early goal is to protect lane tempo and reach the first strong setup.

Kog'Maw is usually punished by forcing its first defensive or spacing tool too early.
