Rengar Wild Rift Expert Guide

§ 07b — Advanced MechanicsRengar: combos & tips Wild Rift

Burst combo from a bush
1
2 AA
3 Q Q
4 E E
5 W W

Jumping from a bush resets the auto-attack; ability 1 resets the auto-attack; ability 3 roots the target; ability 2 provides sustain and reduces the enemy’s armour

Full ultimate combo
1 R R
2 Flash Flash
3 AA
4 E E
5 Q Q
6 E E
7 Q Q

Use the ultimate for stealth and armour shred, Flash to position yourself at the right angle, and complete the combo with skills empowered by Ferocity

Triple Savagery
1 Q Q
2 AA
3 Q Q
4 AA
5 Q Q
6 AA

Savagery resets auto-attacks; use ability 1 BEFORE jumping out of the bush to gain 2 stacks of Ferocity immediately on impact

Mechanical Tips

  • Savagery before the leap: cast Savagery (1) BEFORE leaping out of the bush — the cooldown on Savagery (1) resets upon landing, allowing for immediate double use and 2 stacks of Ferocity on arrival
  • Ferocity stacks: the 4 Ferocity stacks empower the next ability — keep an eye on the counter; Battle Roar (2) when empowered heals massively and removes CC [to be confirmed in WR]; Bola Strike (3) when empowered roots instead of slowing
  • Bola Strike (3) as the sole CC: Level 3 is Rengar’s only CC — save the empowered version (root) for targets attempting to flee rather than wasting it on an engage
  • Bushes on the map: Rengar can use the tribush, pixel bush and enemy jungle bushes to leap onto unsuspecting targets

Common Mistakes

  • Ignore Ferocity management: fighting without Ferocity stacks is far less effective — build up the stacks on jungle camps before ganking
  • Poorly timed Empowered Bola Strike: using the Empowered root too early (on a target that isn’t fleeing yet) wastes Rengar’s best CC
  • Ganking before level 5: The Thrill of the Hunt (ult) completely changes your ganking potential — wait until level 5 before aggressively pressuring the lanes

Notable Interactions

  • Rengar’s ultimate reveals the position of the nearest enemy champion, then Rengar gains stealth to close the gap — do not activate the ultimate if the enemy has a pink ward
  • Savagery (1) resets the auto-attack animation — in combat, chain auto-attack → 1 → auto-attack → 1 to nearly double your DPS
  • With Duskblade of Draktharr, Rengar becomes invisible on a kill — this allows for chain kills in teamfights

FAQ

How should I play Rengar in Wild Rift?

Rengar is generally played as Jungle. The first objective is to clear healthy → ganks on immobile lanes via bushes. Its biggest edge comes from explosive pick-up potential and permanent fog pressure.

When is Rengar strongest?

Rengar takes over in mid game: herald/drake on every timing of r.

How do I punish Rengar?

Rengar can be punished when predictable without vision control; easily countered by peel/shields. A practical answer listed here is: Laying deep wards to prepare non-telegraphed jumps.
