Not necessarily. Irelia needs damage, but above all she needs to stay clean enough after entry to punish resets, marks, and return trades. A slightly more bruiser build often creates more real value than a full-damage version that loses everything to the first correct retaliation.

When does Wit's End truly become priority on Irelia?

Wit's End comes earlier when magic pressure is already stripping too much quality from your duels or side lanes. If the problem is no longer reaching the target but surviving long enough to continue the fight after first access, the item becomes much more profitable.

Why does Death's Dance often remain so important on Irelia even in aggressive games?

Because Irelia rarely wins on first burst alone. Death's Dance buys the exact time she needs to turn a good engage into a truly won duel, absorb part of the retaliation, and keep playing her sequence instead of dying at the very moment her kit starts paying off.
