Grouped engage around one impact point
Amumu and Wukong give Vladimir what he values most: enemies forced to stay close during a critical window. When the engage groups several targets, Vladimir does not need to find the perfect angle alone. He can follow with Hemoplague, charge E, then delay while the enemy team tries to leave the zone. This structure makes his damage much more reliable, because enemies cannot simply retreat individually as soon as he steps forward.
How to play it. Do not go before the allied engage. Let Amumu or Wukong create the first lockdown, then enter with ultimate once enemies have already used their first answers. Your W should help you survive after entry, not reach the zone too early.
Protection and AP carry amplification
Yuumi and Lulu strengthen what Vladimir already wants to do: stay alive long enough for his rotations to become unbearable. With healing, shielding, speed, or extra protection, Vladimir can take a deeper entry without dying immediately after Hemoplague. This synergy type is especially strong when the enemy has burst but lacks tools to control him multiple times. The longer the fight lasts, the more these defensive tools turn Vladimir into a threat that is difficult to remove from the zone.
How to play it. Play fights patiently: let the enemy commit a first resource, then walk forward with defensive buffs. The goal is not only to survive, but to stay in range long enough to force several targets backward.
Mobile engage and fast follow-up
Rakan helps Vladimir by creating a smoother and less telegraphed entry. Vladimir can sometimes lack access if enemies back away as soon as he walks forward; Rakan forces targets to respond quickly, opening a window to place Hemoplague on an already disrupted backline. The synergy is strong because it does not require Vladimir to be the first visible champion in the zone. He can follow the start, use the chaos, and keep Sanguine Pool for the enemy response.
How to play it. Wait for Rakan to force enemy movement or control, then engage onto the already disorganized target. If you enter before him, you risk spending W without your team being able to truly convert.
