§ 01 — Editorial brief

Lulu remains a highly consistent soloQ pick this patch, but her strength heavily depends on having a carry that can capitalize on her buffs.

By WRC Studio ~ 2 min read Patch 7.2a

Lulu is an enchanter support in Wild Rift, a fairy yordle specializing in maximum carry protection through shields, heals, buffs, and enemy transformations. Her kit offers a slow-polymorph, a speed-damage boost, an amplifying shield, and a giant growth ultimate temporarily making her bearer invulnerable to lethal damage. She excels in protect-the-carry compositions seeking to secure an ADC or high-scaling carry. In Wild Rift, her Wild Growth ultimate is the most powerful survival tool in the support role, capable of nullifying entire assassination combos.

Lulu excels in hyper-carry compositions that need protection to express their potential. She benefits from high-scaling ADCs whose damage explodes when they survive long. Protect-the-carry compositions are the archetype where she truly excels.

Lulu loses effectiveness against instant burst compositions that eliminate her carry before she can react. Multi-target simultaneous engage compositions drain her protection resources. Champions that ignore her buffs by directly targeting her carry reduce her utility.

With Lulu, anticipate threats to distribute your shields and polymorph before engagements. Use your ultimate to protect your carry under burst, not just offensively. Managing your E between offensive and defensive use defines your skill level.

Expert note

Expert take

Lulu is a deceptive champion: easy to pick up, but hard to truly master. Her strength does not come from mechanics but from her ability to read a fight and act at the exact moment. She is rarely the reason a team wins on her own, but often the reason a carry becomes untouchable. In the right draft, she completely changes fight dynamics. In a poor draft, she becomes invisible.

Weak point

Hidden weakness

Lulu’s real weakness is not just her fragility, but her reliance on perfect timing. If she uses polymorph too early or on the wrong target, she has no way to recover. Unlike other supports, she cannot compensate with engage or aggressive repositioning. A single timing mistake often results in a lost fight.

§ 07b — Advanced MechanicsLulu: combos & tips Wild Rift

Poke combo
1 W W
2 Q Q
3 AA

Polymorph the enemy, Q to slow, auto-attacks whilst they’re immobilised.

Defensive/peel combo
1 E E
2 W W
3 R R

Shield an ally, speed boost, then R to knock up surrounding enemies + bonus HP.

Support engage combo
1 W W
2 Q Q
3 Flash Flash
4 R R

Polymorph, Q, Flash to engage, R for a defensive knock-up.

Save ally combo
1 R R
2 E E
3 W W

Knock up enemies around the ally, E to shield, W to finish them off.

Mechanical Tips

  • Whimsy (W): two uses — on an enemy = polymorph (disarms and slows); on an ally = attack speed and movement speed bonus. Decide quickly depending on the situation.
  • Help, Pix! (E): two uses — on an ally = shield + Pix follows the ally and attacks enemies hit; on an enemy = Pix follows the enemy and reveals their position + deals damage.
  • Wild Growth (R): on an ally = AoE knock-up of surrounding enemies + temporary HP bonus. Use on the engaged carry to nullify the enemy’s burst damage.
  • Glitterlance (Q): Lulu and Pix each fire a projectile — double coverage. Always use after E to maximise Pix’s hits.
  • Pix (passive): 3 enchanted attacks on proc. Proc via Q, E and certain auto-attacks.

Common Mistakes

  • Using W on an ally when an enemy actually needs to be Polymorphed (an assassin about to engage).
  • Casting R on an ally far away from all enemies — a knock-up into thin air, completely pointless.
  • Not using E on enemies for vision — useful for tracking stealthy assassins.

Notable Interactions

  • R can interrupt enemy dashes if timed correctly during their engage.
  • Using E on a stealthed enemy champion reveals their position.
  • Lulu + Kog'Maw/Jinx/Vayne = hypercarry enabler — one of the best ADC/Support duos.

§ 08 — DialoguesLulu Wild Rift FAQ

Q.01 When should you use polymorph with Lulu? +

Polymorph should be used on the main threat, usually an assassin or key engage. Using it too early on a secondary target removes your defensive potential. Wait until the enemy fully commits, otherwise you lose your most important tool.

Q.02 Is Lulu a good soloQ pick? +

Yes, but only if your team has a carry capable of using her buffs. Without that, her impact is limited. She heavily depends on her teammates, making her less reliable solo than engage supports.

Q.03 Why does Lulu struggle against engage supports? +

Engage supports dictate the pace and force Lulu to react instantly. If she is caught or poorly positioned, she has no time to use her tools properly. This breaks her reactive play pattern.

Q.04 How should you play Lulu in teamfights? +

Stay close to your main carry and identify the enemy threat. Your role is to buff your ally while neutralizing whoever tries to kill them. If you execute both at the right time, the fight becomes very hard to lose.
