Vladimir is a Mid Lane or Baron Lane sustain mage, a vampire whose lifedrain enables survival through lane phases that would kill other mages. His manaless mechanic using HP costs makes him difficult to starve out. His ultimate Hemoplague amplifies all damage dealt to marked enemies, creating massive burst combos. In Wild Rift, Vladimir is a tanky late-game carry who scales exceptionally well and dominates prolonged teamfights through near-infinite self-sustain and HP-scaling damage.
Vladimir fits in patient scaling compositions seeking to dominate late-game teamfights. He benefits from allies creating early pressure while he scales. Extended teamfight compositions benefit from his sustain and growing zone damage.
Vladimir is countered by early pressure and anti-heal compositions that limit his passive sustain. Instant burst profiles neutralize him before he uses his blood pool. Mobile assassins directly threaten him when outside his invulnerability pool.
With Vladimir, use your blood pool proactively to avoid CC and bursts rather than reactively. Build health to simultaneously amplify passive damage. In teamfights, dive into the enemy group after initial engage to maximize transfusion zone damage.
Expert note
Expert take
Vladimir is an excellent champion for players who like turning patience into dominance. He does not only reward mechanics; he mostly rewards tempo understanding. You need to know when lane is already won because you did not lose too many resources, when your W is worth more than a trade, and when Hemoplague should be saved for the real grouped fight instead of a tempting kill. His real strength appears when the team accepts to play around an extended fight and Vladimir enters at the right moment, not when he is forced to be the only engage. Played well, he brings heavy late-game pressure; drafted poorly or played too quickly, he becomes an AP carry without enough room to breathe.
Weak point
Hidden weakness
Vladimir’s hidden weakness is not only his weak early game: it is his dependence on correct delay timing. If he uses Sanguine Pool too early, he loses the only answer that protects his entry. If he holds it too long, he can die before converting Hemoplague. The champion therefore requires a precise read of the enemy’s truly dangerous spell. Many Vladimir players look untouchable when opponents engage poorly, but become far more fragile once the game brings held crowd control, anti-heal, and short fights.
