§ 01 — Editorial brief

Samira holds a very specific place among ADCs: she is not picked to slowly win lane through range or play a standard front-to-back pattern, but to turn one crowd-control window into a finished fight.

By WRC Studio ~ 2 min read Patch 7.2a

Samira is a combo ADC in the Dragon Lane who builds Style stacks by mixing melee and ranged attacks to unlock her devastating multi-shot ultimate. Her Style system incentivizes varied ability usage, rewarding mechanical fluency with escalating damage windows. She can dash through allies and enemies and deflect projectiles with a melee swing. In Wild Rift, she is an all-in hyper-carry who shreds clustered teams once her Style reaches S-rank during a teamfight.

Samira excels in multi-CC compositions that let her accumulate style quickly and safely trigger her ultimate. She benefits from short-duration CC supports that create openings without exposing her. All-in compositions offer her ideal conditions.

Samira is exposed against compositions that can CC her before she builds style and maintain distance through poke. Instant burst profiles neutralize her before her ultimate. Her aggressive playstyle makes her vulnerable to enemy counter-engages.

With Samira, build style progressively before using your ultimate — trigger it only at S rank to maximize damage. Use your E to pass through enemy projectiles and cancel skill shots. In teamfights, stay mobile between targets to maintain your damage cadence.

Expert note

Expert take

Samira is excellent for players who know how to wait for chaos instead of creating it too early. She requires a different mindset from many ADCs: you do not win only by hitting the closest target, you win by identifying the moment when the enemy structure has just cracked. Her real level shows in small forms of restraint: not using E on the first low-HP target, not using W on the first weak spell, not casting R while the crowd control that stops it is still available. With the right support, she creates reset pressure few ADCs can match. Poorly drafted or played impatiently, she becomes flashy but very easy to punish.

Weak point

Hidden weakness

Samira’s hidden weakness is not only her short range: it is her dependence on a fight that has already been damaged. Many players see her ultimate as an engage button, when it is mostly a conversion tool. If she enters before crowd control, shields, or peel spells have been forced, she spends E, reveals her position, then ends up in the middle of a team that is still ready to answer. Her real fragility is timing: a good entry looks explosive, an early entry looks suicidal.

§ 02 — Strengths & weaknesses Samira Wild Rift strengths and weaknesses

↑ Strengths
  • She becomes very rewarding when engage supports are playable, because a single knock-up or stun can give her enough time to build Style and turn lane pressure into a direct kill.
  • Her Infinity Edge + Bloodthirster spikes create real mid-game threat: she may enter later than other ADCs, but she converts much harder once the fight is already opened.
  • Blade Whirl lets her reverse key windows against ADCs that rely on an important projectile, as long as she does not waste it on low-value poke.
  • She punishes grouped teams very well when they fail to hold instant crowd control to stop her during Inferno Trigger.
↓ Weaknesses
  • Avoid Samira if your team has almost no reliable engage: without a first opening, she has to create short-range access herself, which often forces her to enter too early.
  • Avoid her into drafts that combine long range, disengage, and instant crowd control, because she may never reach a clean position to cast Inferno Trigger.
  • Avoid her if the lane forces you to absorb pressure without all-in windows, especially against profiles that can push, poke, and back away before your level 5.
  • Avoid her if your team already needs too many champions to commit into melee range: Samira adds another commit requirement instead of bringing range or space control.

2 E E

Mechanical Tips

  • Daredevil Impulse (passive): each UNIQUE action (different from the previous one) increases Style by one level — NEVER use the same ability twice in a row (e.g. AA → AA does not increase Style)
  • Blade Whirl (2) as an anti-projectile: activates a whirlwind that destroys incoming projectiles for 1s — time it precisely against targeted pokes (Ashe’s arrows, Ezreal’s Q, Lux’s E)
  • Wild Rush (3): a dash that passes through an enemy or allied unit — use to dodge skillshots by passing through an ally or an enemy
  • Inferno Trigger only at S: the ultimate is activated ONLY with an ‘S’ Style rating — if Style is lost (stasis, death), restart the build-up from E
  • Style decay: Style resets after a few seconds of inactivity — maintain an active combat rhythm to avoid losing the stacks again

Common Mistakes

  • Repeating the same action: AA → AA → AA does not increase the Style level — always vary between AA, 1, 2 and 3 for each new input
  • Ult out of melee range: Inferno Trigger is a melee ability — ensure the target is within melee range before activating it
  • Blade Whirl too late: the 2 button must be pressed BEFORE the enemy projectile — if you react after it’s launched, it’s often too late; learn the enemies’ poke patterns to anticipate it

Notable Interactions

  • Samira can cancel the Inferno Trigger animation with a Flash to reposition herself mid-ult [to be confirmed in WR]
  • Wild Rush (3) resets its cooldown on a kill or assist — in teamfights against low-health enemies, Samira’s mobility becomes virtually limitless
  • With Blade of the Ruined King + Infinity Edge, critical strikes during Inferno Trigger are extremely powerful

§ 08 — DialoguesSamira Wild Rift FAQ

Q.01 Is Samira a good blind pick as ADC? +

Samira is not a consistently reliable blind pick. She can work if your team is likely to have engage or crowd control, but she becomes very fragile when the enemy can answer with poke, peel, and hard CC. If you blind pick her, you must accept playing more patiently, sometimes behind your wave, and waiting for enemy cooldowns before entering. She is much more comfortable when you already know your support or part of the enemy draft.

Q.02 When should Samira use her ultimate? +

Inferno Trigger should rarely be used just because S rank is available. The right timing comes when a target is already controlled, the main interruption tools have been forced, or the fight is advanced enough that the enemy team can no longer all focus you. If you cast it into an untouched structure, you become a short-range target. If you cast it after the opening, you turn the fight into a reset.

Q.03 Is Samira better with an engage support or an enchanter? +

Samira usually prefers a support that can create a real entry point, because her E and S-rank timing become much easier to use when a target is already locked down. An enchanter can help her survive, but does not always solve her main issue: reaching the target without being controlled before her ultimate. She can play with protection, but her most explosive version comes from an ally who forces first contact.

Q.04 Why does Samira sometimes feel useless against certain lanes? +

Samira struggles when the lane prevents her from creating a real all-in window. Against ranged ADCs or disengage supports, she can be forced to lose health before she is even allowed to enter. In those situations, the goal is not to win every trade: you must preserve enough HP, hold Blade Whirl for the right spell, then punish the moment when the enemy misuses their escape or crowd-control tool.
