Maokai creates exactly the kind of fight Kog'Maw loves: slow, structured, frontal, and very hard to break through quickly. His control and objective presence give Kog'Maw enough time to fully abuse Bio-Arcane Barrage range. The duo excels on dragon and Baron setups where the enemy has to walk into already lost terrain.

Maokai roots and slows entries, making Jhin's long-range follow-up far more reliable. Deadly Flourish becomes much easier to connect on targets already pinned by the tank. The duo is excellent for controlling corridors, bushes, and objective approaches.

Orianna
Orianna greatly appreciates a tank like Maokai who stabilizes the front and naturally clusters fights. He gives her time to set up her zone, and Shockwave can punish enemies who stack while trying to answer his engage. The duo is very clean in classic front-to-back fights.

Kindred
Maokai protects Kindred very well by providing a durable screen between her and direct threats. He delays enemy entries long enough for Kindred to maximize DPS or cast Lamb's Respite on favorable timing. This synergy is strong into compositions that want to force contact quickly.
