Counters
Ezreal is exposed against champions who can negate his range advantage through superior mobility or instant CC. Aggressive dive or higher sustained poke compositions limit his impact. His lack of raw DPS makes him less effective against tanky compositions.
Draven is a hard counter to Ezreal because he can make lane unplayable without strong support answers. Ezreal wants to play range and scale through poke; Draven turns small mistakes (stepping up for CS, using E offensively) into winning all-ins and snowball.

Nilah is hard because she forces a close-range 2v2 where Ezreal loses value. You want to kite and chip; she wants to stick and win via sustain + AoE brawl. Once she’s on you, you can’t calmly Q poke anymore.
She can absorb poke and look for well-timed engages (often with engage support). If she gains prio, you lose wave poke timings and get pinned under tower. In teamfights, her entries can cut your space.

Lucian is hard because he often wins short trades: dash in, burst, dash out, repeat. Ezreal has sustained poke, but eating a full Lucian rotation loses the trade before your DPS ramps.
In lane, he can force you back and deny last-hits, especially with a pressure support. His trading tempo disrupts the calm poke rhythm you want.
Golden rule: don’t give free dash value. When Lucian dashes offensively, that’s your punish window (Q/W) if you’re safe from support angle. Hold E to break the second timing (follow-up), not to answer the first poke.
Jinx is unfavorable because she plays a straightforward front-to-back teamfight where Ezreal must be perfect: range, constant DPS, and if your comp can’t reach her, poke alone may not stop her from taking over.

Play conservative E: keep it to dodge or exit after ult, not to engage. Stay behind minions and vary movement to reduce free charged arrows. When you hit him, don’t chase in a straight line—that’s where he traps you.
Kai’Sa is a skill matchup: you can zone and poke her, but if you give a window she can follow with ult and turn trades into kills. The matchup is HP management and engage timing.
With good wave and distance, you can slow her down. But getting caught by support CC or using E too early lets her commit and force summoners.
Play attrition: steady chip then reset. Hold E to break her ult timing (exit range or dodge follow-up). Ping windows when she’s low—often convert into objectives rather than risky all-ins.
