Why
Morgana breaks a core part of Lissandra’s identity: you thrive on guaranteed lock-down windows (root into ult) that convert a small mistake into a kill or a forced Flash. Black Shield removes that certainty and forces you to play like a standard mage, while your kit is built to create short, clean, forced fights. On top of that, her kit punishes telegraphed engages—if you step up for E + R, she can bind you and disrupt your tempo.
Lane impact
In lane, the pattern becomes frustrating: you “have the angle,” but the shield denies the conversion and you lose your key cooldowns. That often flips into lost wave priority, fewer roams, and Morgana slowly stabilizing the lane with safer zoning. Once junglers appear, she becomes even more annoying because she can protect the exact target you wanted to hard-lock.
How to play
Treat it as a resource matchup: force Black Shield first, then commit ult (light poke, threaten entry, or sync with your jungler). Position slightly off-line (not directly behind your minions) to reduce free binds, and place early river vision so you don’t get caught while waiting for a window. Timing: at level 5 your ult is the lever—use it mainly when Black Shield is down or when you can isolate Morgana herself. Decision-wise: if lane is stalled, shove and roam cross-map instead of repeatedly trying to all-in through the shield.
